FW&PCOA Industry Certification Survey

Your Assistance Requested!

The Florida Water & Pollution Control Operators Association (FW&PCOA) has been asked by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), and Brevard Public Schools to consider issuing Industry Certification to senior high school students who:

1. Successfully complete the FDOE Environmental Water Technology program of study
2. Pass the FDEP level C treatment plant operator certification exam
3. Graduate from High School
4. Acquire 150 hours of experience shadowing a treatment plant operator
5. Achieve a list of required skills, to be determined by the FW&PCOA
6. Submit a log book, acceptable to the FW&PCOA, documenting his or her experience shadowing the plant operator.
To be included on the “Comprehensive Industry Certification List” maintained by Workforce Florida, Inc., the FW&PCOA must submit the names of water utility industry employers in Florida who will recognize the Industry Certification.
