Director of Public Works & Utilities

The City of Weston, Florida, with a population of 66,603 and a $131 million budget, is seeking a highly qualified licensed professional engineer for the position of Director of Public Works & Utilities. The ideal candidate must be a strong experienced leader and manager who is collaborative, decisive, creative, and who has overseen all the functions similar to this position. The ideal candidate must be proactive and forward-thinking in continuing to maintain the excellent condition of the city's infrastructure and operations, as well as proficient at moving capital projects from conception to completion. The position requires ten years as a Florida licensed professional engineer and progressively responsible experience in public works and utilities management, water/wastewater distribution and collection operations, municipal engineering, stormwater management, infrastructure maintenance, enterprise asset management, GIS, and familiarity with state and local regulatory agencies. Possession of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and license as a professional engineer in the State of Florida is required. A master's degree in an appropriate field is desired. This position is a direct employee of the City of Weston, which offers excellent benefits. The starting pay range is $125,000 to $145,000; the actual salary will depend on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated success.
