Circulation
Circulation is predominantly in Florida among municipal officials, water and wastewater facility directors, superintendents, operators (both public and privately-owned utilities), consulting and design engineers, municipal and public health engineers, industrial engineers, chemists and bacteriologists, educational and research personnel, and equipment manufacturers. It has been estimated that each issue is read by some 20,000 persons in Florida’s water and wastewater market, based on the following approximate membership counts: FWPCOA: 5,000; FSAWWA: 2,600; FWEA: 1,600.
Conditions of Acceptance
Because our readers rely heavily on our advertising in their decision making, and on us for having ads from reputable advertisers, we may request references for new accounts. For the same reason, we reserve the right to refuse advertising from any party. We do not run ads unrelated to the water resources industry.
Deadlines
Copy deadline and the deadline for display ad reservations is the first of the month preceding the month of publication. The deadline for classified ads (line copy) is the tenth of the month preceding the month of publication. Copy from previous insertion will be used if copy is not received by the closing date. New advertisers are liable for reserved space if ad copy is not received by closing date.
Copy Changes
We will accept camera-ready replacement copy at no charge, prior to the closing date of each issue. Changes after that date, if possible at all, may be subject to additional charges, depending on what point in the printing process they occur. If photographic enlargement or reduction is necessary, the cost is $10. Significant re-works of ad copy by us will be subject to labor and materials charges.
Cancellations
Cancellations cannot be accepted after the closing dates. If less than the number of ads for which an insertion rate discount is given are run, the amount of the discounts will be due. For example, if a 12X discount is given and less than 12 ads are run, the 6X or 1X rate, whichever applies, will be due for all ads run.
Indemnification
Advertisers and their agents agree to indemnify the Florida Water Resources Journal, Inc., its sponsoring organizations, and Buena Vista Publishing, Inc. from any and all content, including text, representations, illustrations, sketches, maps, labels, trademarks, or other copyrighted material, and from any claims arising from the Journal’s reproduction and publishing of such advertisements pursuant to the order of the advertiser or the advertiser’s agent. The Florida Water Resources Journal reserves the right to reject, discontinue, or omit any advertising or part thereof.
Errors
In the event of an error that is clearly our responsibility, and that causes detriment to the image of the advertiser or to the sales of the product or service being advertised, not including minor typographical errors, the Journal will re-run the ad or credit the advertiser with a reasonable portion of the ad cost. We can assume no responsibility, however, when ad copy or changes are given orally.
Invoices and Payments
The following are required to be prepaid: (1) Directory cards, (2) Ads placed by new accounts, (3) Ads placed by advertisers with bad payment histories. Otherwise, advertisers will be invoiced after each issue. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice, and is considered overdue after 30 days. The invoice will be accompanied by at least one tearsheet as proof of publication. Additional billing requirements on the part of the advertiser, including additional copies of the invoice and additional tearsheets, are subject to an additional charge of $5 per copy.
Advertising Refund Policy
Full or partial refunds will be reviewed and evaluated on an individual basis. Publisher is not liable for delays in delivery and/or non-delivery in event of an act of God, action by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity, fire, flood, insurrection, riot, explosion, embargo, strike, labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slowdown or any condition beyond control of publisher. Advertiser and/or its agency are bound to the terms and costs as defined in their sales contract and shall be jointly and severally liable for all moneys due and payable to publisher for advertising that advertiser or its agency ordered and was published.
